PHUKET BIKE WEEK 2009

For the 1st quarter of 2009 I've considered an active photographer with a numbers of assignment completed in order for me to promoting myself from amateur becoming pro photographer....I've been travelling twice to Thailand during this mid-terms...Pretty good huh? Ok laah....

Again, a good friend of mine invited me to the another bike week event which is now in Patong Beach, Phuket.... For your info, Patong Beach is one of the popular places in Thailand but naturally been hit by a disaster called Tsunami in 2005.....a large number of people (I can't remember) becoming a victim....

Ok let's talk about my assignment....leaving the Tsunami disaster as a history in our mind....

Phuket Bike Week is also one of the biggest bike event in Thailand....actually what i've heard, there is a weekly bike event all over Thailand....cool!

In Phuket there is 2 separated location for the event, 1 in a shopping mall named JUNGCEYLON (the size is like a Mid Valley Shopping Mall) and the other one is at the beach (I like!!).....

And this time around my idol photographer Mr.Ted Adnan is coming together since he has an interest in photograph the bike event (i guess) or maybe bcoz of he want to complete his portfolio....So with Mr.Ted is around the number of images i've captured is not the same as during the Burapa Bike Week in Pattaya. Thanks Ted!! he he he....

SPORTS - Rugby

Once again i've been invited by a friend of mine to photograph a rugby match between his team against the Malaysia Army Academy at Padang Utara, PJ.... I accepted the invitation with a big smile...why? bcoz it's a first time I have to capture the sport event but at the same time my body shaking....why? Can I do it?!

I prepare myself even though I'm still lack of an equipment like a monopod & a good tripod.....but for me that is not a reason! Creativity is in you! It's not what you leave in the photo, it's what you leave out!

So, besides all the lenses i have, i also have a cheapo tripod which i bought for my small digital camera last time. So i make use of it even though i knew it was not meant for it....as long as i'm not holding the big lenses with my hand all the times...ha ha ha...

So a day before the match and even 2 hrs before the match i'm still referring to the tips from the magazine how to capture a good shot of sports match like rugby especially where to positioning yourself....and I followed!!

Here are the few results on that day....still learning anyway....

I'm back....

It's been a long time since i first started this so called "interesting and yet a little bit expensive hobby"...A photography...!!! Its almost 5 years i dont make any move to pursue and expand my hobby....this is the only hobby left after fishing, sporting and etc....waah! so many hobby!!! After a years I found it's suits my soul....

My first assignment to be so called "amateur wannabe pro photographer "after leaving it so long (actually i'm still the amateur all the way ever since...he he) is attending an event called Burapa Pattaya Bike Week which is among the biggest bike event in thailand... i went there becoz my good friend was participate in that event and invited me to be his official photographer for his club...wow what the treatment i've got at the first place?!!! So i agreed even though my body was shaking whenever i want to compose a good photo for him...but i talk to myself "I have to deliver this..by hook or by crook"...and somemore "it can be deleted if u dont like it!!!"

So i took as many photo as i can (on the first day 580 photos has been taken and stored in my flashcard) coz for me, i still have a choice to choose which one is better or in other words "better take more rather then take less..." (what a grammar is this?!!! ha ha ha!!!)

* Set up in the morning & the event started in the evening.....

And at the end a total pictures taken is 2,408 photos...aaaargh damn!! too many for editing....but i really enjoy it!! Thanks God for giving me the idea & creativity in editing...!

What I learned is whatever we are doing a PASSION must be in our soul!

* The aerial view of the event

* So many dancing girls on the mobile disco....whoaaa!!
